Eddie Holly has granted special permission to use his work WITHOUT a purchased license to a certain PSP group who requested it. Mr. Holly granted his original permission just two short weeks ago and the group's manager politely wrote to Mr. Holly requesting special permission to continue to use his work without a purchase licensed. This special permission was granted by Mr. Holly via email yesterday AFTER his tubes were released with MPT. This leads us to believe Mr. Holly might not understand exactly what tube licensing means. It also seems, per Mr. Holly's email, he was approached by MPT to license and not the other way around as MPT is leading customers to believe.
"Yeah, unfortunately, we didn't know he used to give permissions out when he signed with us. Since he said he hasn't updated his site in a very long time, he probably forgot about it." Used to give permissions? The majority of his perms have been given this past month! If MPT did not know this, then it shows how incompetent they are. We would think that would be one of the first things a licensing company would want to know of perspective artists - Do you give or have you given permissions for taggers to use your work? Secondly, if an artist has been inundated with permission requests for almost a entire month, as Mr. Holly surely has by all the groups who were adding him to their perms list, we would think it would be a little difficult for it to just slip his mind he has given permissions. Especially when he supposedly approached a licensing company!

I truly believe from speaking with Mr. Holly myself via email last night, that he was not fully informed of the situation.

I am just now finding out about the magnitude of the PSP community. I had no idea this would effect you guys the way it has.

So I made sure to let him know about a "Courtesy Clause" that is held in every contract that we sign, be it for a car, a house, or anything contract at all, and I think that now he's being made aware of the seriousness of this mistake he will look into it further and retract his decision.
Poor man has no idea of what he has just stepped into. I feel for him, especially if he crosses MPT in a bad way.
If his website gets hacked then we know they found out!
They found it out. They now say they are letting him clear it up 'on his side' and that we DO NOT have permission to use b/c he did not know what he was doing. They say that HE approached them and gave THEM tubes already.
If he didn't know what he was doing or what licensing meant, then why or how would he know to contact MPT to license him? How would he know what tubes are to provide to MPT for sale? I ask these questions here because I get nothing from MPT when I ask them anything and I'm tired of them treating me and other customers like we're idiots.
